Student Achievement & Academic Excellence
Every student deserves the opportunity to succeed. Candiase will remain focused on strong instruction, academic growth, closing achievement gaps, and ensuring students have the resources and support they need to reach their full potential.
Supporting Teachers & Staff
Great schools depend on great people. I will advocate for the recruitment, retention, development, and support of high-quality teachers and staff while promoting working environments where educators feel respected, valued, and equipped to succeed.
Student & Staff Wellness and Safety
Students learn best, and employees perform best, when they feel safe and supported. Candiase will prioritize safe learning environments, student and staff wellness, positive school climates, and the resources necessary to address the needs of the whole school community.
Transparency, Accountability & Ethical Leadership
Families and taxpayers deserve leadership they can trust. I will promote ethical governance, transparent decision-making, responsible budgeting, financial accountability, and clear communication about the decisions affecting Norfolk Public Schools.
Equity, Access & Opportunity
A student’s ZIP code, background, or circumstances should never determine the quality of their education. I will work to ensure students throughout Norfolk have equitable access to rigorous academics, programs, technology, extracurricular opportunities, and the support necessary to thrive.
Stronger Family & Community Engagement
Education is a team effort. I will champion accessible and responsive School Board leadership, honest dialogue, and stronger partnerships among families, educators, administrators, students, community organizations, and the City of Norfolk.
Innovation & Future Readiness
Our schools must prepare students for the world they will enter, not simply the world of today. Candiase will support innovative learning opportunities, career and technical education, technology, workforce preparation, and pathways that prepare students for college, careers, military service, entrepreneurship, and lifelong success.
